The following is a press release from Wilton’s College Nannies + Sitters + Tutors.

In a world where you can find a date, order a pizza and binge watch every episode of “Gilmore Girls” all from your smartphone, College Nannies + Sitters + Tutors has introduced a solution to any difficulty finding a sitter—and they say that solution is just an app away.

According to a press release, College Nannies + Sitters + Tutors has introduced the My Sitters™ App, for moms and dads who need help with finding qualified, reliable sitters who have a passion for watching kids. Here’s how they say the app works:

  1. Parents can download the app and set up a time for an in-home consultation. At that one-time meeting, the College Sitters’ Family Placement Manager gets to know the family—how many kids they have, what their interests are, if they have any pets or allergies. This process helps College Sitters match families with the right sitters.
  2. After that meeting, a set of sitters is assigned to the family. Those sitters’ background information and availability are visible on the app. Sitters are booked and confirmed with just a few taps. Whenever one is needed, booking is as easy as sending a text. Parents can pull up a calendar and scroll through available babysitters. When they’ve chosen their favorite, they book a date and time right on their phone. Within a very short period of time (sometimes only minutes), they’ll get a confirmation directly from the sitter.

The actual booking is said to be just as simple:  “College Sitters arrive on time and provide their own transportation—no picking them up and dropping them off. Plus, there’s no reason to stop at the ATM to get cash. Parents get billed through the app on a biweekly basis,” the release states.

With one of the biggest concerns for most parents being trusting a new sitter, Joe Keeley, founder and CEO of College Nannies + Sitters + Tutors, says his company addresses those concerns.

“We don’t have a bunch of independent contractors who are randomly linked to families. Our sitters are employees, and every employee goes through a rigorous background screening and interview process. They also go through an orientation and ongoing training where they learn creative play, crafts, games, meal ideas and even jokes,” he says, adding, “My wife and I use the app to book sitters for our young kids.”

In fact, according to the release, the babysitters are employees of College Sitters, which means they get a steady paycheck and on-going training.

Locally, College Nannies + Sitters + Tutors is located at 396 Danbury Rd. in Wilton. To contact the managing principle, Leona Peiffer, call 203 987 3343 ext 5 or contact via email.
