Ever wonder what it looks like in the Wilton Emergency Operation Center (EOC) during an emergency? The picture above snapped during a simulation exercise this week should give a GOOD idea. That’s when all Town of Wilton emergency operations personnel responded to a simulated major storm emergency in a planned exercise with statewide emergency operations management and resources.
Wilton’s EOC was activated at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 23, with all Town departments participating, plus representatives from Wilton’s Volunteer Ambulance Corp (EMS), Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Connecticut Light and Power.
The exercise simulated preparation, response and recovery through a major hurricane event. According to a release from Wilton’s first selectman Bill Brennan, communication with the Governor and the State’s unified emergency management command occurred during this “very successful” emergency preparation and planning event.
