The Wilton High School boys’ varsity basketball team has become Wilton’s Dream Team.

Thursday night, March 16, they play in the CIAC Class L State Semi-Finals. The Final Four.

It’s the first time a boys basketball team from WHS has ever made it this far in state competition, which makes both the school and town communities giddy at the prospect. Fans have been packing the stands all season, with the team drawing a crowd of 3,000 when they played in the FCIAC Finals two weeks ago.

Sixth-seeded Wilton faces number 2 seed Notre Dame-Fairfield Thursday, starting at 7 p.m. at Fairfield Warde High School. If–hopefully when–they win, they’ll face the winner of the matchup between Sacred Heart and Middletown, two teams playing at the same time Thursday night (at a different location). The finals are scheduled for Sunday, March 19 at 5:30 p.m. at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
