The screening includes total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides and glucose, as well as blood pressure and body mass calculation. The cost is $40 payable by cash or check. Fasting for 12 hours prior to the test is suggested but not required.
High blood cholesterol affects over 65 million Americans. It can be a serious condition as it increases the risk for heart disease, yet has no symptoms. Research indicates that lowering blood cholesterol levels lessens the risk for developing heart disease and reduces the chance of having a heart attack or stroke.
