A pretty nice week (July 31-August 6) of weather is in store for Wilton featuring mainly sunny days and pretty seasonable temperatures, although the typical summer storms will build in as the week progresses.

Monday, July 31:  The very nice weather from Sunday will continue into our Monday to end the month of July. Expect sunny skies and temperatures continuing to climb, getting into the mid 80s. That’s about average for this time of the year. This week will definitely be warmer than last week’s relief.

Tuesday, August 1:  The trend is our friend and the mercury will rise even further heading into our Tuesday as the clear, blue skies shine overhead once again in the form of mostly sunny skies. The humidity will be a bit higher, however, so enjoy the crisp, dry air while it lasts on Monday.

Wednesday, August 2:  Unfortunately, humidity will become high, making it feel oppressive by Wednesday. That combination of heat and humidity introduces the chance for the classic summer thunderstorm or two, especially in the afternoon. A thunderstorm is not guaranteed because it will be in the hit or miss variety, so if we don’t get a storm, it will remain mostly sunny.

Thursday, August 3:  On Thursday, there is the chance for a thunderstorm or two during the day again, but this time I think the greatest chance is actually in the morning. Otherwise the day will feature mostly sunny skies, similar to Wednesday.

Friday, August 4:  The chance for storms continues into Friday with hit or miss thunderstorms in the forecast. I want to remind you that none of these days will be washouts. We may get a passing storm each day, but the large majority of each day will be dry–just know that there is the potential for some rain.

Saturday, August 5:  A new disturbance will move in on Saturday, bringing back the potential for storms. This will be a different set-up than the mid-week storms, however, because Saturday’s storms will be fueled by an actual large-scale system instead of the heat and humidity. Therefore, storms will be more prevalent on Saturday with multiple showers and storms possible in addition to the oppressive moisture in the air.

Sunday, August 6: By Sunday, a cold front will wipe all of the storms and high humidity out of the air, ushering in a very comfortable air mass, making for a beautiful day. Expect fall-like air with a high around 80 degrees under an ample amount of sunshine.
