UPDATE 1 p.m.

  • Wilton Police and Emergency Management Operations are asking all residents to stay off the roads. Heavy snowfall and high winds are making travel very dangerous. They report that, thankfully, no significant events have occurred thus far. Says EMO director, Deputy Chief Mark Amatrudo, “It’s helpful that businesses are mostly closed and people are off the roads. Residents are asked to stay home, dress in layers and avoid exposed skin if you go outside, report any power outages to Eversource (800-286-2000) and follow local news sources (like GOOD Morning Wilton) for storm updates.”
  • Wilton Hardware will close at 1 p.m. today.

Wilton Police report one tree has fallen at Kensett Ave. by Brookside Pl.. Wilton’s DPW crews are responding to clear that now.

Additional Closures 11 a.m.

  • Town of Wilton non-emergency offices and facilities are closed today, Thursday Jan. 4.
  • Village Market will be closing at 1 p.m. Thursday and re-opening at 7 a.m. Friday.
  • All Bankwell locations are closed today, Thursday, Jan. 4. Updates will be posted to the Bankwell website.
  • The Wilton Family YMCA is now closed and will reopen at 5 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5. All programs and classes are canceled, including classes held at the gymnastics center.
  • Outdoor Sports Center is closed today.
  • Wilton Historical Society is closed today, and will reopen at 10 a.m. Friday.

As of 11:30 a.m. Eversource reports no power outages in Wilton.

Winter Storm Grayson has caused several closures across Wilton:

  • Wilton Public Schools and Offices will be closed today, Thursday, Jan. 4. The Board of Education meeting scheduled for Thursday evening has also been cancelled.
  • Due to the snowstorm, Wilton Library will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 4. Please visit the Wilton Library website for more information and to download eBooks, eAudiobooks stream movies, music and more.
  • Due to the Wilton School closings and snow storm all Wilton Family YMCA program classes before noon are canceled (including classes held at the gymnastics center). Nursery School, the After-school Program & Child Watch are all canceled. All group fitness classes before 11 a.m. are canceled. Babysitting will be canceled unless staff can get in.
