Fall and winter registration for the 2015-2016 season of Wilton Children’s Theater (WCT) is now open. The productions that will be staged in the coming school year will be The Wizard of Oz in the fall and Mary Poppins for winter.
WCT is an incredible experience for Wilton kids interested in theater and performance. Children in grades 4-8 are eligible to participate, and all children involved in the program must be Wilton residents, regardless of the school they attend. Because of facility space limitations, a maximum of 55 children are accepted for each production. If more children register than can be accommodated by the program, a lottery is held. Cast members will be randomly selected to provide an even distribution of children by grade and gender.
Online registration for both shows is open now through Sept. 1. In-person registration is held on Sept. 2-3, from 3:30-7 p.m. each day at Middlebrook School Auditorium. The production schedule requires students to attend three after-school rehearsals per week, culminating with three performances. Production runs for 10 weeks (rehearsals and performances) during the school year.
The Wizard of Oz will run Nov 20, 21, and 22, 2015. Production staff for the production include Skip Ploss (director), Judy Abbatiello (choreographer), and Erica Buse and Andrea Bates (producers). Rehearsal days are Tues., Wed., and Fri. from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Middlebrook Auditorium.
Mary Poppins will run March 11, 12, and 13, 2016. Marybeth Peterson and Wendy Corper are the producers. Rehearsal days are Mon., Wed., and Fri. from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Middlebrook Auditorium.
