Tickets went on sale for Woodcock Nature Center‘s fall benefit, “Under the Harvest Moon,” in early August, and officials there say the event is now already sold out. The benefit, planned for Friday, Sept. 21, is scheduled to take place in Woodcock’s picturesque candlelit pavilion and surrounding grounds for over 150 guests.
“We are thrilled by the response to this event which supports all the wonderful educational programming Woodcock Nature Center provides to our community,” says executive director Lenore Herbst. “Ticket holders can expect a fun and relaxed evening of farm-to table food donated by The Hickories, Millstone Farm, Horseshoe Farm and Ambler Farm and creatively prepared by chef Sarah Bouissou of Sarah’s Wine Bar. There will also be food from No. 109 Cheese and Wine plus wine tasting with Cellar XV Wine Market and beer from Nod Hill Brewery. Unique silent and live auction items will also highlight the evening.”
Under the Harvest Moon follows on the heels of other sold-out summer programming at Woodcock Nature Center, including a group hike and family s’mores event. It precedes Woodcock’s incredibly popular Wreath Fest fundraiser planned to start at the end of November which typically sells-out within 48 hours. Fall after-school and pre-school programming is currently open for registration and interested families are encouraged to sign-up now.
“The early success of this event is due in no small part to a dedicated committee of volunteers and to the year-round work of our incredibly supportive board and talented staff. We look forward to celebrating all our successes with the community on Sept. 21,” Herbst adds.
Organizers have started a waiting list for tickets to Under the Harvest Moon. Interested parties should email with contact information and the number in their party. Woodcock Nature Center also encourages the community to join its email list to be the first to hear about upcoming programs, events and on-sale dates on the WNC website.
