The 10th Annual CARE to Run & Walk 5K supporting families of children with cancer is set to take place on Sunday, May 5 at 9 a.m. in Merwin Meadows Park. Organized by local nonprofit Circle of Care, this town-favorite event brings together the Wilton community for a day of fitness, fun, and inspiration.
The 5K, which welcomes runners, walkers, and those who just want to support local families, has become a staple in the Wilton community, drawing participants of all ages to show support for children and families facing the challenges of childhood cancer. This year’s event features a DJ and on-course cheering stations to create a vibrant and energetic atmosphere for participants, in addition to an Inspiration Wall for participants to share why they support Circle of Care. A photo station will also help commemorate the event.
Following the race, attendees can look forward to an after-race tailgate, complete with food generously prepared by Wilton Deli, coffee donated by Connecticut Coffee and Grill, refreshing beverages (including a Cinco de Mayo treat), and activities for all ages. It’s a chance for participants to have fun, celebrate together, and connect with fellow supporters of this important cause.
Circle of Care is a Wilton-based nonprofit that provides practical, emotional, and financial support to families of children with cancer. The organization helps alleviate the burdens families face during their children’s cancer journeys, ensuring they have the resources and support they need every step of the way.
This year’s event is presented by Inspira Marketing of Norwalk. Other sponsors include ASML, Wilton Rocks for Food, Dynamic Edge Physiotherapy and Wellness, local realtor John Schiaroli of William Pitt Sotheby’s International, Mulvaney Mechanical, and more.
This celebratory 10th annual event is open to individuals and groups of all ages and fitness levels. Whether participants choose to run, walk, or simply cheer from the sidelines, their involvement will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with cancer and their families. Participants are encouraged to check out Circle of Care’s fundraising incentives to inspire them to make an even bigger difference for families.
