Ambler Farm will hold its signature event, Ambler Farm Day, on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 12–4 p.m., and Wilton will celebrate the 15th year of the town’s favorite autumn festival. Families from Wilton and beyond are invited to enjoy all the traditional fun events, including: the apple slingshot, farm animals (featuring the flemish giant rabbits, NEW this year!), make-your-own-scarecrow, hay rides, trebuchet (aka “punkin chucker”), children’s crafts, pumpkin patch, delicious homemade apple pies, baked goods, farm stand and more!
New to this year’s lineup of activities includes sheep shearing and a sprinkler safety presentation by the Wilton Fire Department.
There are lots of opportunities to get involved and help in the preparation leading up to Oct. 4.
- Ambler Farm Day Committee organizers are asking for used clothes donations for the Make-Your-Own-Scarecrow activity. This popular activity relies on the generosity of donations to make it such a success. Clothing donations can be dropped off at the bins outside the White Carriage Barn at Ambler Farm (257 Hurlbutt St.).
- Anyone interested in volunteering for Ambler Farm Day should contact Maria Wilcox by email.
- Like to bake? Cupcakes, brownies, caramel/candy apples, cookies, and other treats are welcome! Gluten free & nut free too! Please email Lisa Alaine for more information or to help out.
- To donate a pie, please email Deb Corrigan. Apple peelers and pie assemblers/bakers are needed for the annual bake-a-thon on Friday, Oct. 2 beginning at 9 a.m. at the White Barn. Stop by for an hour or two!
