This Saturday evening, June 3, Acoustic Wilton will take the Wilton Playshop stage for the first time in three years to help raise funds for the local, non-profit theater. Acoustic Wilton, a coalition of local Wilton High School student and adult musicians, has been a staple on the Wilton music scene for nine years. They share their gift of music to raise money for many great causes including the Wilton Education Foundation, Relay for Life, and the Wilton Playshop.
Acoustic Wilton concerts present a unique opportunity to see local adult musicians work together with students to bring to life a two-hour performance of outstanding acoustic music. The students gain the experience of creating an act outside of the standard high school music program, while the adults get the opportunity to share their wealth of musical experience with a great group of students. Musical selections span the spectrum from hip hop to country and feature songs from Bob Dylan to Beyoncé. You won’t know what to expect, but are guaranteed not to be disappointed. Over the years Acoustic Wilton has brought nearly 100 students and 25 adults together for over 20 performances.
This particular performance promises to be very special. With Wilton High School’s Senior Prom falling on the same night, it was originally feared that Acoustic Wilton would not be able to perform. In typical Acoustic Wilton family style, however, several alumni have returned from college and are thrilled to step in and perform for their hometown friends again.
The list of performers for this show includes seven students, four alumni (three friends of alumni from college) and eight dedicated adults ready to bring you a night of great music for a great cause, the Wilton Playshop. Brought together under the direction of Joni Wallace, the list of performers includes Brycen Addison, Liv Benjamin, Tyler Warren, Izzy Gouveia, Joe Appuzzo, Cameron Berg, Sean Maljanian, Quinn Reedy, Jared Gladstein, Carter Vail, Elliot Connors, Brendan Donnelly, Lauren Chakraborty, Nicholas Serrambana, Dan Berg, Matt Greene, Adrienne Reedy, Patty Perry, Kelley Addison, Donna Savage and Jim Konatsotis.
Don’t miss the chance to enjoy a truly unique Wilton experience and support the beloved Wilton Playshop, now entering its 80th season. The show starts at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 3. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for children 12 and under, and are available online or on the Wilton Playshop website.
