For parents looking for an alternative to the “same-old, same-old” camp experience for their kids, Ambler Farm offers an innovative and nurturing program for children from pre-school age through 7th grade. Its Adventures at the Farm Program gives kids the opportunity to immerse themselves in farm life first hand.

By working in the Ambler Farm garden, they will develop an appreciation for where their food comes from, learn about growing vegetables, and taste just-picked tomatoes, green beans, berries and other produce. Campers will also have the chance to help feed and care for Ambler Farm’s menagerie of animals, which includes sheep, goats, chickens and new this year, baby geese. The activities will change each week, and will also include woodworking, hayrides, cooking, crafts and other farm-related projects. Students will be divided by age group and be involved in age-appropriate activities.

Ambler Farm’s Adventures at the Farm program encourages kids to appreciate the great outdoors, the value and joy of working with their hands and interacting with farm animals. Kevin Meehan, Ambler Farm’s program director, and a long-time and highly respected Cider Mill science teacher and science resource leader, oversees the Adventures at the Farm program.
