The 2017 Ambler Farm ‘Sunset Hoedown’ is less than a week away, which means there are only a few more days to get tickets. This can’t-miss party on Saturday, June 10 from 6-10 p.m., is the annual celebration of the start of summer, and it will also help the farm begin construction on the interior of the Raymond-Ambler Farmhouse this fall, with the goal of opening the house to the public in 2018.
Saturday night’s event promises to be a lively evening featuring a BBQ and Hoedown under the stars at the Farm, with fabulous food, a gorgeous summer sunset and square dancing. The Sunset Hoedown features an exceptional “Giving Line Photography Project,” created by local photographer-extraordinaire Peggy Garbus, with new images of Ambler Farm available for guests to purchase.
Not only does purchasing a ticket to the event help efforts, but guests can also help fund specific items needed around the farm and described on cards hanging from the clothes line. Pictured on the other side are beautifully photographed images of Ambler Farm shot by Garbus. Guest get to keep the artfully captured images as a memento of their evening and of their generosity.
Specific areas in need of funds include a complete restoration of the Farmhouse’s center chimney and hearth to working order, and a new outdoor patio area surrounded by Betty’s garden, allowing the Farm to expand their current educational programs and social events to a beautiful and functional outdoor space.
“We are looking forward to another fun-filled, spectacular evening at the Farm to kick off the summer season,” said Robin Clune, Ambler Farm’s executive director. “This is an important fundraiser and we greatly appreciate our guests joining us to benefit the continuing growth of Ambler Farm.”
Hoedown contributions also help support the overall work Ambler Farm does for the community, including hands-on educational programs, sustainable agriculture, and various social activities.
The Sunset Hoedown will include a barbecue catered by local fave restaurant Barcelona. The delicious eats kick off with a wide selection of passed hors d’oeuvres and a signature cocktail. Guests will enjoy BBQ pork ribs, grilled skirt steak, mini pork sliders and all the fixings. In addition to a delicious dinner under the tents, the highlight of the evening’s festivities is square dancing with a professional caller and hayrides under the stars. It all gets capped off with Ambler Farm s’mores!
Advance registration is required, and tickets for the popular dinner-and-dancing-under-the-stars event are available for purchase on the Ambler Farm website. Tickets for members are $100 per person, and are $115 per person for non-members. Enrollment in this popular event is limited–last year’s Hoedown sold out–and there is no waiting list.
