The Wilton branch of Bankwell is collecting new and gently used shoes and boots for the Open Door Shelter beginning today, Thursday, Sept. 1 through Sept. 30, as part of the bank’s ongoing commitment to supporting and giving back to the local community. The bank is asking anyone to bring in men’s, women’s and children’s shoes for donation during banking hours. The Wilton branch is located at 47 Old Ridgefield Rd.; other participating branches include two in New Canaan (208 Elm St. and 156 Cherry St.) and the Norwalk location at 370 Westport Ave..

“This is the Bank’s fourth annual collection in support of the Open Door Shelter,” notes Heidi DeWyngaert, executive vice president and chief lending officer at Bankwell. “The shoe drive is a terrific way for Bankwell to help support those in need, and we are very appreciative of the generosity and support of so many caring individuals in our communities.”
