Wilton Arts Council is once again sponsoring its annual photography exhibition and has put out a call for entries. Adults, high school students, and youths (through 8th grade) who take original photographs, whether traditional or digital, are invited to enter Focus ‘16.
The popular photography show will return to the Wilton Library and open to the public for viewing from Saturday, Mar. 5-Friday, April 1, during regular library hours.
To enter photos, drop-off at Wilton Library (137 Old Ridgefield Rd.) on Saturday, Feb. 27, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 28, 1:30-4 p.m..
Photographs submitted must be original photos taken by the entrant. Photos that are at least 8” x 10” framed, and wired appropriately for hanging, may be submitted. Should the number of photos submitted exceed the exhibit space, one or
more judges may screen the photos prior to hanging to choose those that will be exhibited. Photos chosen to be exhibited will then be judged in the following divisions:
- Best of Show: $150 (Open to all)
- Adult: First $125; Second $100; Third $75; Fourth $50; Fifth $25
- High School: First $75; Second $50; Third $25
- Youth: First $35; Second $25; Third $15
In addition, Honorable Mention ribbons will be awarded in each division.
Contest judges are professional photographers: Daryl Hawk, Hawk Photography; Debbi Morello, former photojournalist; and Larry Untermeyer, photojournalist.
The reception and awards presentation will take place on Friday, Mar. 11, 6 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. at Wilton Library.
