Saturday turned out to be a gorgeously perfect day to celebrate the Wilton community–especially its business community. Organized by the Wilton Chamber of Commerce, the third annual Wilton Street Fair and Sidewalk Sale ran in Wilton Center on Saturday, July 12 as a way to highlight the many businesses that call Wilton home and to bring shoppers out for great summer deals and fun entertainment.
“We could not have asked for a better day! This event is very near and dear to our hearts as it showcases what a vibrant, dedicated and unique community Wilton really is. Our fabulous merchants, eateries, businesses and event participants rolled out all the stops to make our third year a record breaking one,” said Janeen Leppert, executive director of the Wilton Chamber.
Event organizers said attendance numbered in the thousands. Visitors were able to stroll down Old Ridgefield Rd., which was closed to traffic, to shop, eat and explore Wilton Center. Activities included live music, entertainment and family fun.
Leppert also expressed appreciation for the event sponsors and others who made the day possible.
“Thank you to our event sponsor, Fairfield County Bank and supporting sponsors GOOD Morning Wilton, Signature Style, Realty Seven, Wilton Hardware, Halstead Property, Tierney O’Hearn, Esq. and Gregory & Adams. We sincerely appreciate the assistance and cooperation extended by Wilton CERT, Parks & Recreation, Police and Fire Departments, Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Town of Wilton in allowing the Wilton Street Fair + Sidewalk Sale to be held in the heart of our community.”
