Maher Endorsed as Pro-Environment Candidate
The following endorsement was submitted to GMW by the CT League of Conservation Voters.
The Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) endorsed Ceci Maher to represent the 26th State Senate District of the CT General Assembly, including the towns of Darien, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Stamford, Weston, Westport, and Wilton. Voters have long relied on CTLCV’s endorsements to identify candidates who will champion environmental protection.
“Sen. Maher has been a strong advocate for addressing climate change through meaningful and comprehensive legislation,” CTLCV Executive Director Lori Brown said. “Sen. Maher’s efforts to improve air quality and public health by reducing car emissions is just one example of her commitment to creating a more sustainable and healthy future. Her continued leadership for environmental progress is needed at the Capitol.”
Flooding in southeast Connecticut is a huge problem for her district. Maher is committed to passing policies that would help municipalities become more resilient to storm and flood damage due to a changing climate. As chair of the Children’s Committee, she understands climate is a top concern for young people. She takes very personally the need for those voices most affected by climate change to be heard at the Capitol. If re-elected, she is determined to continue to fight for the environment for all her constituents in the years ahead.
