Update 3:10 p.m.–the article has been updated to reflected the time reported by Wilton Police that Rt. 7 is estimated to be affected by the ride.

The 13th Annual CT United Ride, a 60-mile motorcycle ride that is billed as the “largest 9/11 tribute in Connecticut” will take place on Sunday, Sept. 8. The ride begins in Norwalk and passes through 11 towns in Fairfield county, ending in Bridgeport at the beach. Police motorcycles escort the riders, and fire departments hang American flags over the route.

The CT United Ride is sponsored by the CT State Fire Fighters – the UPFFA of CT. Each year, thousands of motorcycle riders participate.

In Wilton, the motorcycle caravan cruises northward along Rt. 7, beginning at approximately 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Limited southbound traffic will be permitted during that time, and cars will be held at intersections along the route. It makes for an entertaining bit of viewing along the route, however.
