The Wilton Democratic Town Committee is turning up the heat on election season, kicking off the season with a BBQ at Merwin Meadows this Saturday, Sept. 7 from 12-3 p.m. Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman will be the headlining official at the event. Also in attendance will be Democratic politicians from Hartford, including CT’s Secretary of State Denise Merrill, Attorney General George Jepsen and Comptroller Kevin Lembo and State Senator Bob Duff.

Still unconfirmed (as of press time) are invited guests Governor Dan Malloy, State Treasurer Denise Nappier, Senator Richard Blumenthal and Congressman Jim Himes – and the DTC has promised “a few surprise guests.”

The event is open to everyone, Democrat or unaffiliated voter. The DTC is promoting the BBQ as a chance to meet their new committee chair, Tom Dec, the youngest Town Committee Chair in Wilton History. Other Democratic elected municipal officials will be there for the meet and greet as well.

Tickets are $45 for adults and $10 for children 4-17 (children 3-years-old and younger are free). Families can enter for $100. In addition, the DTC is offering a “buy one $45 ticket, get a second adult ticket free” to voters who bring the postcard they received in the mail this week or who print out this article, including the main picture.

Tickets can be purchased online at the DTC website.
