Leave it to the Wilton High School seniors to have a little fun in their final year of high school. The WHS Class of 2015 is jumping eagerly into the annual tradition of the Senior Show, presenting Law & Order: Fairy Tale Unit, this Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.

Every senior is encouraged to participate in whatever capacity they choose, regardless of their background in theater. This year, over 80 students have been rehearsing for this light-hearted spoof of the well-known TV series, Law & Order. Written by Jonathan Rand, the family-friendly show even spoofs the familiar opening line as a description:

“In the fairy tale criminal justice system, the characters from fairy tales and nursery rhymes are represented by two separate yet equally ridiculous groups:  the fairy tale police who investigate fairy tale crime, and the fairy tale district attorneys who prosecute the fairy tale offenders. These are their stories.”

Directed by Wiremill Academy‘s talented Mary Jo Duffy, this lively romp will delight with its quirkiness. Current musical numbers, such as Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass have been included into the one-act play for additional hilarity. Andrea Metchick worked as the director of choreography and Chris Coogan provided musical direction.

Show times are Thursday, Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, Jan. 30 at 8 p.m.; and Saturday, Jan. 31 at 5 p.m.. Tickets are $10 students/$12 adults and can be reserved by calling 203.834.4844 or by emailing whstix@wilton.k12.ct.us.
