Kim Healy Should be Wilton’s Choice for state Rep

To the Editor:

Kim Healy has demonstrated her ability to listen, learn and lead in her role as a Wilton Selectwoman. In that role, she has always promoted effective policies with civility, not political divisiveness. In that role, she has gained the local experience to effectively represent Wilton’s local concerns in Hartford. As examples:

  1. Kim supports legislation that retains local decision-making for our schools.
  2. Kim will take an approach to meaningful zoning reform that respects the importance of local decision-making.
  3. 3) Kim understands the need to update state laws to provide practical collaborative solutions to housing affordability.
  4. 4) Kim will restrain state spending by maintaining the current fiscal guardrails.

Kim will also promote a pro-growth economy, which includes the reduction of unnecessary regulations and smarter, accountable government spending. She will advocate for smart, economically responsible initiatives to support robust and healthy environment and the need for sustainability. On some of the bigger issues Kim will support and defend CT women’s reproductive freedom and push to eliminate CT income tax on social security payments.

In summary, if you look at her position on the issues, Kim should be Wilton’s choice for state rep. She is my choice.

Wilton Women Unite! Maher and Constantine Will Protect Reproductive Rights

To the Editor:

To Wilton women and the men who believe in equality for women and girls.

Please vote to re-elect Ceci Maher as State Senator and elect Savet Constantine as our next State Representative. We need strong, smart, compassionate leaders like Ceci and Savet who will fight to protect women’s reproductive rights. They will be the firewall to a draconian national agenda that goes against the overwhelming support by Americans for safe and legal access to abortion.

Bodily autonomy is about power and agency. It’s about choice and dignity. It is the foundation for gender equality. It must be a fundamental right.

When women and girls have access to information, services and the means to make decisions about their own bodies and lives — free from violence, discrimination or coercion — they can chart their own course and realize their full potential. And when they do, the benefits — to their health, education, income and safety — extend to their families, communities and their countries.

If Republicans gain control of the CT legislature, Republican legislators who say they are pro-choice may not be able to protect reproductive rights. They will likely be pressured or primaried out of office. Which is why it is critical for candidates who stand up for bodily autonomy have a seat at the table.

Join me in supporting Ceci Maher and Savet Constantine.

Kim Healy for State Rep

To the Editor:

I am writing to support Kim Healy for State Representative for the 42nd District. Kim has demonstrated her collaborative and bipartisan approach to government during her time on the Wilton Board of Selectmen. Kim has worked to ensure responsible municipal spending while still meeting the needs of the town and residents of Wilton.

Outside of the Board of Selectmen Kim has also been on the Reading Leadership Implementation Council since 2022. On this council Kim has been vocal in her opposition to the State Department of Education’s one size fits all approach to the implementation of this law. Kim wants to ensure that parents and boards of education have a strong voice in state policy decisions.

In Hartford, Kim will be a voice for appropriate government spending and maintain the current fiscal guardrails as well as be an advocate for small business. Kim will also advocate to eliminate state income tax on social security payments which will help our senior citizens manage the cost increases we’ve seen over the last several years of high inflation.

Kim will push for a forward-thinking approach to zoning reform at the state level recognizing the importance of local decision making.

Please join me in supporting Kim for State Representative for the 42nd District.

Savet Constantine for Our Children

To the Editor:

Having known Savet Constantine for many years, I know she will be a phenomenal champion for our community. I can attest to her intellect and her insatiable curiosity. She is always listening, learning and thoughtfully engaging with those with different perspectives before drawing conclusions.

Savet’s incredible work ethic and her love of our community has translated into a strong public service record.  As the former president of the Middlebrook and Wilton High School PTAs, Savet worked closely with school administrators and teachers to give parents a voice in their children’s education. She is a strong believer in the power of public education and how it is critical in successfully launching the next generation of productive citizens. Savet’s children attended Wilton Public Schools from kindergarten through graduation. Her children are shining examples of Wilton’s educational excellence with their advanced research and post-graduate work in STEM fields. She believes in investing in our children’s education and will be a strong advocate for the resources needed to ensure academic excellence.

Savet will also fight for the resources to support the mental well-being of our students and their safety. She was named a 2024 Gun Sense Candidate by Moms Demand Action and endorsed by CT Against Gun Violence (CAGV). She will uphold our existing gun safety laws and pass new ones that will help make our communities safer.

A Small Business Advocate, State Senator Ceci Maher Has Earned Reelection

To the Editor:

With pleasure I plan to vote in November, to reelect Ceci Maher, our current State Senator of the 26th District

Ceci’s office recently helped me when my attempts to register my small business had hit delays in Wilton. Her aide researched state and local regulations and found the requirements that helped me persuade my case and ultimately obtain the permits I required.

Ceci also has worked on the programs that are important to me. She has helped to: expand mental health services for children, create a green jobs corps program, establish new protections for elder homecare, secure additional funding for town police departments and new sidewalks. Not to mention cutting state taxes.

Ceci has always had the leadership skills and social intelligence to be a state senator. Now she has the actual experience. Ceci has earned reelection.

We Need Kim Healy in Hartford

To the Editor:

With a ‘Big Four’ accounting background, proven local leadership including Wilton’s Board of Selectmen, and years of community and volunteer service, I enthusiastically support Kim Healey for State Representative. She is a proven problem solver who would work on our behalf in a bi-partisan manner and has been endorsed by the state’s Independent Party. Additionally, she is the only candidate with relevant experience and a long history of serving numerous local organizations. Kim has the right skill set to help the community and the state in the important areas of education, economics, housing, safety and the environment.

We need Kim in Hartford and I urge you to join me in voting for her.
