Looking for a fun, family-friendly craft idea for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend? The Wilton Economic Development Commission, in partnership with the Wilton Library, invites Wilton children in grades K-12 to enter the First Annual Winter Palace Sculpture Contest.

Kids living in Wilton in grades K-12 are invited to create and submit their own one-of-a-kind Winter Palace Sculpture design.

Entries need to be submitted by Tuesday, Nov. 29. Submissions will be on display in the Children’s Library from Wednesday, Nov. 30 to Saturday, Dec. 10. During this time, the community is invited to vote for their favorite sculptures, and winners will be awarded prizes donated by local Wilton businesses.

“We loved the creativity that our town showed with the scarecrows during Halloween, and wanted to continue on that creative theme. We hope that, like the Scarecrow Fest, this will become an annual tradition. Since Wilton is known for its ‘green’ initiatives, we thought it would be a great idea to have the sculptures constructed of recycled or sustainable materials,” said Vivian Lee-Shiue, chair of the Wilton Economic Development Commission.

There is no entry fee but registration is required.
