Two recent events on behalf of Wilton Library resulted in both good will and good support for the organization.
Above, Wilton Library raised more than $5,000 at its recent Wine Tasting & Restaurant Showcase. Enjoying the festivities are (l-r) Elaine Tai-Lauria, executive director of the library; Ann Mitrione, branch manager of sponsor Bankwell of Wilton; Ann Duffy, president of Wilton Library Association’s Board of Trustees; and CT State Representative Gail Lavielle.
The wine tasting was arranged courtesy of New Canaan Wine Merchants through library trustee Jeff Barbour. Providing tasty morsels for guests to munch on were Barcelona SoNo, Bianco Rosso, Little Pub, Luca Ristorante, Marly’s Bar & Bistro, Oak + Almond, Portofino Restaurant & Bar and Wave Hill Breads. The media sponsor was Wilton Magazine.
That event was followed by another fun fundraiser that also benefited the Library. It’s no mystery that the Wilton Newcomers Club loves the Wilton Library, when president Tara Thompson (below, center) dropped off the club’s donation to Robin Axness, development director for the library (left) and Elaine Tai-Lauria, the library’s executive director. The money was raised during the Newcomers 50th Anniversary Murder Mystery Party benefiting the library.
