Famed author Wally Lamb will visit Wilton Library to discuss his book, We Are Water, on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 7-8:30 p.m.. The book is a layered portrait of marriage, family, and the inexorable need for understanding and connection. It is also a portrait of modern America, exploring issues of class, changing social mores, the legacy of racial violence, and the nature of creativity and art.
With humor and compassion, Lamb brilliantly captures the essence of human experience and the ways in which we search for love and meaning in our lives. He is the author of four New York Times best-selling novels–Wishin’ and Hopin’, The Hour I First Believed, I Know This Much is True, and She’s Come Undone–and was twice selected for Oprah’s Book Club.
Lamb is a Connecticut native and was a high school English teacher for 25 years at the Norwich Free Academy, and an associate professor at the University of Connecticut where he directed the creative writing program.
