The first week of October (Oct. 2-8) will be very beautiful and fall-like overall with temperatures crisp and quite seasonable for this time of the year. Break out the pumpkin spice lattes and enjoy the nice, cool weather this week!

Monday, Oct. 2:  Monday will be a splendid day to begin the new week, featuring plentiful sunshine and temperatures warming up to around 70 degrees. It will be cool in the morning, with temperatures starting off at 50 degrees so you may want a light jacket.

Tuesday, Oct. 3:  The story will be the same heading into Tuesday with sunny skies and temperatures a few degrees above the average high of 68 degrees. It will be great weather to rake the leaves that are covering your lawn as the leaves begin to fall.

Wednesday, Oct. 4:  Guess what? It’s going to be another sunny and beautiful day on Wednesday. My hump day forecast is abundant sunshine with temperatures at its warmest so far this week, getting into the mid 70s.

Thursday, Oct. 5:  Temperatures will peak on Thursday into the upper 70s, as an upper-level ridge of high pressure builds into the East Coast. It is very rare to have a ridge of this magnitude occur in autumn because we often don’t have temperatures near 80 degrees this time of the year. Thursday will also feature sunny skies.

Friday, Oct. 6:  The unusual sight of clouds will arrive Friday afternoon following a sunny morning. This cloud cover is ahead of a cold front, which will bring a few light showers to town overnight. Depending on the timing of this front shift, it’s possible things will trend a bit wet either Friday or, if it slows down a bit more, Saturday.

Saturday, Oct. 7:  Speaking of Saturday, I’m currently forecasting for that front to push through before daybreak. If it does, we’ll be in for a dry, fall-like day with mostly sunny skies and cooler temperatures only maxing out below 70 degrees.

Sunday, Oct. 8:  High pressure will center itself overhead on Sunday, making for yet another sunny day. This weather will be very nice to take a stroll through town while temperatures warm to around 70 degrees.
