“Find Hoff” in Trackside Scavenger Hunt to Save on 80s Night Fundraiser Tix

Trackside Teen Center has kicked off an innovative “Find Hoff” Scavenger Hunt around Wilton to promote the organization’s upcoming 80s Night Fundraiser event.

Wilton residents out and about may unexpectedly bump into ‘David Hasselhoff’. No, Hollywood isn’t shooting a remake of “Baywatch” or “Knight Rider” in Wilton. Instead, cardboard cut-out Hasselhoff, aka ‘The Hoff,’ will be popping up all over town for the next two weeks offering those who find him a chance to enjoy $20 off tickets to 80s Night, scheduled for Saturday, April 27, where guests will rub elbows not only with ‘the Hoff’ but other (cardboard cut out) 80’s icons.

The community-wide scavenger hunt kicked off this past Saturday and runs until Friday, April 12 or until tickets are sold out.

Tickets are still on sale online for the adults-only event.

“This ‘Find Hoff’ community scavenger hunt came as a result of a recent board meeting brainstorm as the board and staff were thinking about ways to build excitement around 80s Night and get the community more involved,” Trackside Board Member Olga Traub said.

The Celebrity Cut-Outs present a sponsorship opportunity for the event, something Trackside Director Lori Fields said is one of the most popular sponsorship levels.

“Sponsors who choose the Celebrity Sponsorship have their business logo prominently displayed on the wall at our red carpet, step and repeat photo area. This is a high-traffic area where guests take pictures with their favorite [cardboard] 80’s icons like David Hasselhoff, Prince, Madonna, Michael Jackson and more,” she said.

“People always want their picture taken with ‘The Hoff’ at 80s Night,” Trackside Program Director John Priest said, “so we thought, let’s turn the playfulness factor up a notch, and allow the community and our local businesses to get in on the action and enjoy a little reward!”

‘The Hoff’ will be moved to a different Wilton business location daily. Those who find Hoff can scan the QR code to enjoy $20 off their tickets to 80s Night.

Going on its fourth year as a signature fundraiser for Trackside, 80s Night raises funds to support the teen center’s programs and activities geared towards empowering and supporting Wilton’s teens.

The evening includes food and an open bar, trivia games and dancing the night away to the best of the 80s music with videos and a few special live performances.

“With our recent loss in town funding, 80’s Night is a really important fundraiser for the teen center this year. As silly as’Find the Hoff’ might sound, we see this as a trifecta of a win for all involved — having a positive impact on the teen center, our community and all these local businesses that we’re so fortunate to have in Wilton,” Fields said.

“One of our favorite sayings at Trackside is, ‘A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle,’” Trackside Executive and Program Assistant Marie Demasi said. “We do our best to bake this philosophy into all that we offer our teens and community at large. Supporting each other brings joy and abundance to us all.”

The ‘Find Hoff’ scavenger hunt is underway now. No registration is required. Follow Trackside’s Facebook page for clues and pop into different businesses around town to try to ‘Find the Hoff’!
