Connecticut is home to many beautiful winter birds, who are always searching for their next meal. The Wilton Historical Society wants to enlist your help to nourish Wilton’s avian friends during the winter with a bird feeder made out of a large pinecone, suet, and birdseed.
Just in time for February, which is National Bird-Feeding Month in the United States, the Wilton Historical Society is hosting a Birdfeeder Making Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 6, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.. Children will enjoy this fun and educational project, which will attract many birds to any yard.
The activity is suggested for ages 6-12.
Please register by email, or by calling 203-762-7257. Cost to attend is $5 for members, $10 for non-members.
Just for fun, we’ve included some pictures of birds in winter. Credit goes to Tracy Scarfi, Sibylle Kinley and Stacey Lynn Schulman.
