Since 2004, the Wilton Library has presented its “Wilton Reads” program as an opportunity for residents to come together as a town through fine literature and sharpen the view of ourselves and the world around us. The Wilton Reads 2013 selection is acclaimed author Attica Locke‘s The Cutting Season.

In preparation for upcoming book discussion programs and Ms. Locke’s appearance at Wilton Library on September 27, 100 free copies of The Cutting Season will be given away on a first come, first served basis in the Library Gallery on Wednesday, August 28 starting at 10 am.  Get there early to receive your free copy, one per person please.

The Cutting Season is a heart-pounding thriller that interweaves two murder mysteries, one on Belle Vie, a historic landmark in the middle of Louisiana’s sugarcane country, and one involving a slave gone missing from the same plantation more than one hundred years earlier. In this sweeping story of the south, Attica Locke provides an unblinking commentary on politics, race, the law, family and love.
