The Wilton High School freshman girls lacrosse team, led by coaches Bridget Healy and Trish Weber, finished an undefeated season last week, capping their inaugural year with a record of 11 wins and 2 ties. Along the way they defeated some of Wilton’s big FCIAC rivals, including Darien, Ridgefield and Staples.

That record helped them notch a remarkable success–the team was the only one at WHS that went undefeated this school year. Their coaches say that’s because of how well the girls played as a team and worked together.

“The girls took their game to a new level by learning how to think strategically and make good choices on the field,” says Weber, something with which Healy agrees:  “A key part of our success was how the team evolved from individual players to a comprehensive unit, all working towards a common goal.”
