Mark Your Calendars for Winter Fun at Ambler Farm! Two of Ambler Farm’s most popular winter programs, the Tap-a-Tree Maple Syrup Program and the Valentine’s Tea, are now open for registration.
Tap-a-Tree Maple Syrup Program
Learn the science and history of maple syruping by being a hands-on part of the process. There will be two training sessions offered on Saturday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m.; only one session is required for training. On that day, participants will choose a tree and hang their bucket that will collect sap. Ambler Farm will send regular updates on the running of the sap so families can come to the Farm to collect sap from their trees. Sap will be boiled down in the Farm’s sugar shack and each family will go home with their very own bottle of Ambler Farm maple syrup.
The season runs from early February to mid-March. Maple syrup production is winter farming and, therefore, weather dependent. A typical season is five weeks long. If participants are traveling during February or March, Ambler Farm will collect their sap.
Enrollment is limited to 110 families; it costs $60 per member family and $65 per non-member family. This program sold out quickly in previous years, so those interested should not wait to sign up. Registration is open for members now, and opens to non-members on Jan. 15 (space permitting). Register online here.
Please email Ambler Farm if you register but cannot attend either orientation.
Valentine’s Tea – Sunday, February 7th, 2-4pm
Spend a cozy afternoon with your little Valentine at Ambler Farm’s annual Valentine Tea. Enjoy platters of delicious sandwiches and sweets galore, and have fun making a craft to take home. The Tea is a popular event and sells out quickly, so reserve a spot soon.
The cost to attend is $20 per adult, $10 per child. Registration is now open online to members and non-members.
