GOOD Art: Wilton Library Has TWO April Art Exhibitions

Wilton Library is presenting two art exhibitions for the month of April. The “Paint it Up!” art exhibit will feature local artists who participate in the library’s Paint It Up! adult library program. The paintings will be on display in the library’s Gallery.
The bonus art exhibit, “Chinese Calligraphy by Christine Yuan” showcases the work of Fairfield-based artist Christine Yuan on display in the Reading and Reference Areas. The opening reception will be this Friday, Apr. 10, from 6-7:30 p.m., and is free and open to the public with refreshments served.
The Paint it Up! program is hosted twice a month. At each session, Wilton Library supply the canvas, paints, brushes and a collection of masterpieces to copy and inspire the painter. No art experience is required.
The “Chinese Calligraphy by Christine Yuan” exhibit features the work of Fairfield-based artist Christine Yuan, whose practice centers on traditional Chinese calligraphy. Yuan’s work explores Chinese calligraphy as both a visual art form and an embodied, meditative practice.
Both exhibits are on view now through May 4. A majority of the works will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the library.
