Movie goers are in for a nature treat as SYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour returns to Wilton on Saturday, Mar. 28. The fundraiser includes a film program, a mix-and-mingle and an opportunity for residents of all ages to carry forward sustainable actions to protect the local community.

Since 2005, the Wild & Scenic Film Festival has partnered with local land trusts, water keepers, schools and NGOs to help raise funds to sustain and restore natural spaces within their local communities. Wilton’s event features nine thought-provoking, entertaining and informative films that capture the beauty and fragility of nature and encourage residents to adopt habits that protect and preserve resources in their own backyards. Film lengths vary from 3 minutes to 20 minutes.

Ticket sales from the Wilton Film Festival will benefit the seven local host organizations, including the Norwalk River Valley Trail, Norwalk River Watershed Association, Pollinator Pathway, Mianus Chapter of Trout Unlimited, Wilton Go Green, Wilton Land Trust and Woodcock Nature Center.

“After the success of our inaugural Film Festival last year, all of our organizations were energized and eager to collaborate again for a second season,” Wilton Go Green President Tammy Thornton said. “We chose films that speak to our missions and aim to inspire our audience. We are looking forward to another wonderful evening.”

The film festival will be held at the Wilton High School Little Theater, starting at 5:30 p.m. with a mix-and-mingle, raffles, and food and refreshments. The films will be shown from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Learn more and purchase tickets online

The Wilton High School ski teams wrapped their 2026 season at the Connecticut Interscholastic Ski League (CISL) States Championship on Thursday, Feb. 26.

Wilton’s girls led the way at States, finishing sixth overall against a combined Class S and Class L field with a team total time of 318.06. Team scoring at the championship meet is determined by the combined times of each school’s top six racers, rewarding both individual performance and lineup depth.

The Warriors’ six scorers were Olivia Edwards (51.42), Siena Buchichio (51.63), Lyla Theoharides (52.63), Parker Pettibone (53.30), Magnolia Levy (54.47) and Lila Richardson (54.61). The girls’ strong finish at States came on the heels of an even larger accomplishment, as Wilton was officially recognized as the Class S Regular Season Champion, securing the top cumulative record across the five-race regular season schedule.

The boys also delivered a competitive showing at States, placing eighth overall with a team score of 311.93. Their top six finishers were Cooper Buchichio (46.77), Vincent Kelly (49.96), Ray Slough (52.46), Benjamin Behar (53.11), Theo Satrazemis (54.36) and Sean Raftery (55.27). That performance capped a strong regular season for the boys, who finished second in the Class S regular season standings, just behind Weston.

Several Wilton athletes earned distinction as members of the CISL All-State Team, awarded based on regular-season racing results and recognizes these athletes as the top high school ski racers in Connecticut.

  • Boys All-State: Cooper Buchichio (senior captain), Vincent Kelly (freshman)
  • Boys Class S Honorable Mention: Theo Satrazemis (senior captain), Ray Slough (senior)
  • Girls Class S Honorable Mention: Lyla Theoharides (senior captain), Olivia Edwards (sophomore), Siena Buchichio (sophomore), Parker Pettibone (sophomore)
