GOOD To Go to the Fair: Annual Cannon Grange Agricultural Fair Celebrates Wilton’s Agricultural History and Community
The Cannon Grange is hosting its 93rd Annual Agricultural Fair on Sunday, Aug. 30, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Grange Hall (25 Cannon Rd.).
The fair promises a full day of community fun, contests and creativity, in what organizers proudly call “the sweetest little fair in the area.”
Each year the fair celebrates Wilton’s agricultural heritage, community strength and resourcefulness. For this year’s “America 250” milestone, the Grange adds timeless American virtues of land stewardship, independence and local community action to the celebration.
Visitors of all ages are invited to enjoy the Grange’s popular adult and junior competitions in a variety of agricultural, horticultural, culinary and handcrafted categories, including baking, pickling, florals, fruits and vegetables, arts and crafts, woodworking, sewing and needlework, photography, eggs and much more.
The fair will also feature local nonprofit organizations sharing information about their missions, local artisans and vendors offering handcrafted and artistic products, live musical entertainment and food.
Visitors should be aware of the ongoing Cannon Bridge construction project, preventing access from Cannon and Pimpewaug Rds. (where parking is prohibited) on the east side of the bridge. All vehicle traffic is via Danbury Rd./Rte. 7. Free parking is available at the Cannondale Train Station across from the Grange.
Admission is $2 per person — visitors under 2 years old are free. (Pets or animals are not permitted per State Grange regulations.)

GOOD To Run Proud: Take Part in Wilton’s Third Annual Come Out & Run 5K
Registration is open online for this year’s Come Out & Run 5K, which will be held on Sunday, Sept. 20. Starting and ending at the Wilton Town Green, the race begins at 9 a.m. with a spirited kickoff at 8:30 a.m. with this year’s first Stiletto Dash.
Part 5K, part community party, Come Out & Run is a collaboration between Wilton Pride and Wilton Library to bring the community together in unity and celebration of pride. This family-friendly event features music, festivities, food, flair, prizes and more.
Runners, walkers, kids, strollers and leashed dogs are all able to participate. The registration fee is $30 per person for ages 10 and older; kids under 10 can participate for free. All paying participants will receive swag plus access to digital photos, event festivities and more.
The Stiletto Dash is a spirited, 30-yard dash on the Wilton Town Green right before the 5K. This fun sprint is all about grace, style and speed all while running in heels at least 3 inches tall. Runners wearing Pride attire get an extra edge by scoring preferred placement right at the front of the starting line.
GOOD To Ride the Rides: Rotary Club’s Carnival Returns
The Rotary Club of Wilton is hosting its much-anticipated Family Carnival from Friday, Sept. 18, through Sunday, Sept. 20, at the intersection of School Rd. and Danbury Rd./Rte. 7.
Carnival hours through the weekend are Friday, 6-10 p.m.; Saturday, 3-10 p.m.; and Sunday, 12-5 p.m.
The carnival, a cherished Wilton tradition, is the perfect way for families to celebrate the onset of autumn and the new school year. Attendees can look forward to an array of attractions, including over a dozen rides suitable for all ages, a variety of games, and engaging activities for the entire family. To satisfy appetites, a diverse selection of food trucks and vendors will be available throughout the weekend.
Admission and parking for the event are free. For thrill-seekers, wristbands offering unlimited access to rides are available. Individual ride tickets will also be on sale. Dedicated volunteers from the Rotary Club will be on hand to manage the ticket booth and distribute wristbands.
The carnival helps support a range of worthy causes, with 100% of the proceeds from the carnival reinvested into the Wilton community, supporting local projects, nonprofit organizations, and global humanitarian efforts spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Wilton in collaboration with Rotary International.
