Wilton residents were thrilled when GMW.com broke the news that Mario Lopez and Cristina Ramirez, owners of the popular restaurant Bianco Rosso, were opening a second restaurant in town. They’ll be opening in the space previously occupied by Bon Appetit Cafe sometime this summer in the Stop & Shop Plaza at 5 River Rd..
But the husband-and-wife team still can’t agree on a name. So, they’ve decided to enlist the help of Wilton residents and GOOD Morning Wilton readers. They want to hear what you think and will use that input to make a final decision.
They’ve got some ideas for names, which we’ve included in the survey below, but they’re open to other suggestions. Here’s what you need to know about their plans for their new eatery:
- “New American” cuisine with a strong focus on seasonal ingredients, hardwood grilling and craft cocktails.
- Industrial interior design, unlike Bianco Rosso
- Great food, with a focus on service, just like Bianco Rosso
- Family oriented, with a separate bar area
- Outdoor seating when the weather cooperates
Mario and Cristina need to settle on the name this week. Voting is now open and will close on Wednesday, March 16 at 8 p.m., and they’ll take your votes into account when they pick a finalist. We’ll announce the name they choose on Thursday morning, March 17.
Only one vote per person is allowed, but your vote may help impact Wilton’s growing dining scene. Even better—everyone who enters a valid name and an email address (optional) with their vote will be entered into a drawing to win dinner for two at Bianco Rosso (see details at the end of the article).
Drawing details: One winner will be randomly selected from the names and email addresses submitted by voters. Only one entry per person is permitted—multiple entries will be eliminated. The prize is dinner for two at Bianco Rosso (valued at up to $100 maximum); it is nontransferable and cannot be redeemed for cash value. Relatives/employees of GMW.com and Bianco Rosso are ineligible to win.
