Carly Pierson and Gabriella Nisco had an outstanding day of competition at the Stepping Stone Farm Horse Show on June 7, at the equestrian show grounds in Ridgefield. The show was “C” rated by the United States Equestrian Federation. Both girls rode “Timbit” to their championships. (pictured above)
Nine-year-old Carly Pierson competed in the “Walk, Trot” division and the “Walk, Trot, Canter” division. She and Timbit rode through seven classes and took championship reward in “Walk, Trot;” Carly was awarded Reserve Champion in the “Walk, Trot, Canter” division. The team stayed in the top ribbons in all the classes, including 3 first place ribbons. Carly attends Cider Mill School and is the daughter of Michael and Kristen Pierson.
Gabriella Nisco also rode Timbit in the “Opportunity Hunter” division. The division offers three jumping classes and an under saddle class. Challenged in the jumping classes, she and Timbit received second place ribbons over fences which gave them enough points to be awarded the Reserve Champion in the “Opportunity Hunter.”
Gabriella is 12 years old and attends Middlebrook Middle School. Gabriella’s goals are to attend a college with an equestrian team and combine her passion for riding with fashion design by becoming an equestrian fashion designer. She is the daughter of Paul and Marybeth Nisco.
Both girls started riding last summer at Starbuck Equestrian which is home based at Stepping Stone Farm in Ridgefield.
