The Wilton Historical Society is holding a Hot-Penny Plate workshop for kids on Saturday, March 5, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m..

A hot-penny plate is a trivet.  In this fun workshop, kids ages 6–12 will get a kick out of using pennies, felt and cork to make a star-shaped trivet. While making their trivet, Lola Chen, museum educator will talk with the children about the history of coins in the United States. Participants will enjoy a cheese fondue snack.

Enrollees in the workshop should bring 20 pennies to make the hot-penny plate. To participate, the fee for Wilton Historical Society members is $10 per child, with a maximum of $25 per family; non-members are $15 per child, with a maximum of $35 per family.
