May 4 is always an important day for Star Wars fans, as in “May the Fourth be with you.”  But here in Wilton, next Saturday, May 6 is going to be an even bigger day for fans of the movie cannon:  that’s when members of the Star Wars—501st Legion will be visiting Wilton Library, between 12-2 p.m.. The Force will be strong at Wilton Library when fans get to interact directly and take photos with characters from George Lucas’ universe.

According to Wikipedia, “the 501st Legion is an international, fan-based organization dedicated to the construction and wearing of screen-accurate replicas of Imperial Stormtrooper armor, Sith Lords, Clone Troopers, bounty hunters, and other villains from the Star Wars universe. The 501st Legion, called by its nickname Vader’s Fist, is made up entirely of volunteers–more than 10,000 active members worldwide.”

All Jedis-in-training will have an opportunity to meet and greet Legion members. Costumes are welcome and free comic books will be available. No registration is required, and this event is open to fans of all ages.

Wilton Library is located at 137 Old Ridgefield Rd..
