After being snowed out in January, the Wilton League of Women Voters has rescheduled a previously promoted talk on Cuba. It will be the featured presentation at the League’s monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 29, at 7 p.m. at the Senior Lounge at Comstock Community Center (180 School Rd.).
Given the geopolitical changes that have occurred since that original date, the talk promises to be even more fascinating.
Wilton LWV member Barbara Quincy and Norwalk residents Stuart and Galen Wells participated in a mid-November cultural exchange trip to Cuba, under the auspices of the People to People Educational Exchanges authorized by President Obama in 2011. Their tour returned home right before the U.S. re-established diplomatic relations with Cuba.
The Wilton LWV is inviting all League members, friends and the public to its monthly steering committee meeting for the informal discussion about the trip. Guest speaker Barbara Quincy is also the president of Stay at Home Wilton.
