To the Editor:
I really enjoyed reading your article, “WHS Theatre Waves Its Wand to Create Magical ‘Harry Potter’ Production” by Jarret Liotta posted on Nov. 8, 2024.
What a great experience for the high schoolers to be able to have the honor to perform The Cursed Child. I love the Harry Potter series. My parents started reading them to me when I was in second grade. I would beg for one more page to be read because once I finished a book I then watched the movie. It took me and my parents about a year to complete the series and I loved each book more than the last.
I read The Cursed Child during COVID lockdown but there was no movie to watch when I finished the book. I was able to attend the show last month and it was awesome. I didn’t have much interest in going at first but I was happy in the end.
I agree with the author, Jarret Liotta, that the show was great. The play gave a magnificent showing of Albus’ magical world. I felt just like I had ended one of the books and was watching the movie. The effects were so amazing, at times I felt I was at a Broadway show.
I am only in eighth grade, but I hope over the next four years to have other opportunities like that while at Wilton High School.
Sincerely,
Sam Manson
