Monday, Dec. 9, the Wilton Police Department swore in Robert Klein as its newest member of the Wilton force. Ofc. Klein joins the Wilton Police after a 25-year career as a member of the Weston Police Department.

According to a press release issued by the Wilton Police, “former co-workers and supervisors spoke very highly of Klein’s hard work and dedication to the community of Weston throughout his many years of service.”

Wilton Police officials cited Klein’s interest in continuing to serve in law enforcement with the Town of Wilton as something that “clearly demonstrates his commitment to public safety.”

The release also mentioned that several retired and current law enforcement officers from surrounding departments attended Klein’s swearing-in, noting that as “a testament to his character.”

Wilton Police Chief Tom Conlan was pleased to welcome Klein to the Wilton Police Department, and according to the press release, Conlan said that Klein’s “years of experience will be a great asset to our community.”

First Selectman Toni Boucher also praised Klein for his commitment to serving the community, “at a time when Police work presents substantial challenges.” Several members of Klein’s family, who were in attendace, were thanked for their support.
