In honor of Mental Health Awareness Day, Fitness Coach Melly Bonita of Wilton Fit Body Boot Camp and Lori Fields, Director at Trackside Teen Center, have teamed up to offer a one-of-a-kind fitness session designed to help women unlock and tap into their inner strength
The idea behind it, Bonita and Fields said, is the belief that getting fit isn’t just about following a specific workout or nutrition plan — it’s also very much about mindset and living from a solid foundation of inner strength in a person’s relationship with themself.
The free event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 7-8 p.m. at Wilton Fit Body Boot Camp (5 River Rd.).
The experience will combine guided meditation, mindset work, and 30 minutes of strength training designed for participants to flex their muscles, fine-tune their mindset, and leave feeling energized and empowered.
“At Trackside, we don’t just do fun stuff for teens. We are also here to support the parents, and this event is designed to help women relieve stress and tap into their inner strength so that they set themselves up to best provide and care in all the ways they do for their families,” Fields said. “I also firmly believe that children benefit and start to form their own good habits by watching their parents take care of themselves.”
“As a fitness coach, I’ve witnessed and personally experienced how much physical movement positively impacts mental health,” Bonita said. “Lori’s powerful meditation and talk followed by a 30-min strength workout will allow women to experience the powerful results that come from the practice of strengthening their mind and body.”
Both women said participants will be challenged to move beyond old ways of thinking, feeling, and using their bodies, in order to help unlock their power and potential.
The Boot Camp session is free and open to all fitness levels.
Space is limited. Interested participants can register online.
