Miller-Driscoll Elementary School is hosting registration for children entering kindergarten next September for the 2014-2015 school year. The school has scheduled registration starting today and continuing over the next three days, according to children’s birthdates. Enrollment is open to children who turn five years old on or before Dec. 31, 2014.
Registration is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day, according to the following plan:
Tuesday, Jan. 14 — Children born in January, February, March or April
Wednesday, Jan. 15 — Children born in May, June, July or August
Thursday, Jan. 16 — Children born in September, October, November or December
Registration takes place in the gym at Miller-Driscoll, at 217 Wolfpit Rd.. Signs will be posted outside the school. If there is a delayed opening due to inclement weather, registration will begin at 11 a.m.. If school is canceled for any reason on any of the days above, registration will be rescheduled for Friday, Jan. 17.
Parents must present several items in order to register their children:
- Original birth certificate or current passport. (A hospital certificate is not considered an official document).
- Proof of residency required: current real estate tax bill, deed, closing document, lease (if renting), driver’s license and current utility bill (CL&P, oil or water bill showing Wilton address).
- Completed State of Connecticut health form signed by your physician. If your child’s physical will not be completed by January, please bring a copy of the immunization record.
Children need not be present during the registration process; completed paperwork is all that will be required at this time.
Kindergarten orientation for children and parents will be scheduled later in the spring.
