Minks to Sinks presented a very generous check to their chosen fundraising designee, FCA (Family & Children’s Agency) at their annual meeting Wednesday, Jan. 27. Standing in Trackside Teen Center, close to 60 Minks to Sinks volunteers gave $100,000 to FCA, representing the net proceeds from both the spring and fall 2015 sales.

What’s more, the $100,000 was in addition to $20,000 that Minks to Sinks had already donated to the organization earlier in 2015.

Accepting the check on behalf of FCA were Robert F. Cashel, FCA’s president and CEO, and Julene Greenshields, FCA’s Board chair.

Charlotte Ackerman, who co-chaired Minks to Sinks last year along with Laura Hussey, called it “a wonderful accomplishment for a group of women volunteers, moving margins.”

In addition to the check presentation and the organization’s annual meeting agenda, Mary Kate Locke, director of adoption and family support prevention services, spoke about how FCA supports children and families in Fairfield County and how the generous donation from Minks to Sinks would impact those families.

“This donation allows us to continue this important work which literally changes lives,” says Kathy Seiden, FCA’s vice president of development and communications.
