Music on the Hill celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with “Luck o’ the Irish,” a concert of Irish music performed by the Festival Chorus and Jubilate Ringers handbell choir, with Artistic Directors David H. Connell and Ellen Dickinson conducting. The concert takes place on Sunday, March 15, at 3 p.m. in Parish Hall at the Wilton Episcopal and Presbyterian Church complex (WEPCO), 48 New Canaan Rd..

The Jubilate Ringers will perform Dr. Connell’s exuberant “Give Us a Dance Then,” a suite of Irish dances arranged for handbells, which the group premiered last March. The suite includes the jigs, reels, and waltzes of a traditional Irish ceili, or dance party, complete with bell effects evoking the piper’s drone and dancers’ clogs.

The Festival Chorus will sing songs of love and longing (“Carrickfergus” and “‘Tis the Last Rose of Summer” as arranged for the King’s Singers); a lively “Kerry Dance;” and a wordless “Londonderry Air” arranged by Percy Grainger. Other selections include choral settings of the poetry of W.B. Yeats.

Unleash your inner Irish and join Music on the Hill on March 15. Tickets are $20 in advance online and $25 at the door. Children and students can attend for free.
