With spring flowers just waiting for the late season snow to melt to push up through the ground, there are new businesses beginning to bloom on the commercial front in Wilton. In addition, some existing businesses have new locations to tout.
Lang’s Pharmacy of Wilton
Wilton will once again have a small, independent pharmacy in town when Lang’s Pharmacy of Wilton opens on Monday, March 27. Located in the former post office at the top of Old Post Office Square (28 Center St.), Lang’s will be very similar its sister location in Weston, offering gifts, cosmetics (including all natural, organic lines), body care and beauty products, in addition to medications and prescriptions. According to the website, Lang’s will handle prescription transfers and offer services such as flu shots, immunizations, delivery, private consultations, medication synchronization and travel vaccinations. In addition to being more personal than a chain, Lang’s also is up to date technologically, and plans to introduce a mobile app for customers.
Lang’s Pharmacy will be open 7-days-a-week, and can be reached at 203-762-6700.
Sola Salon Studios
This franchised location of studio salons offers independent stylists and personal service estheticians the opportunity to own their own studio and service their own clients. The Wilton Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting last week for Sola Salon Studios in their beautiful new location at 5 River Rd. (in the River Park shopping center), just upstairs from the Shaolin Martial Arts Studio and Campus Jewelers.
We’ll have an article on owners Rich and Holly Bobrow and two stylists, Gwen Covert and Patrizia Cavone, on Monday.

Super Scissors
Another new salon, this one especially for kids haircuts, Super Scissors has opened at 1 Danbury Rd., in the Snip Snaps space by owner Melisha Newell, who used to work at Snip Snaps. With lots of appeal for little kids–car and motorcycle chairs, video games and toys to distract even the wiggliest of clients–Super Scissors offers hair cuts from infant to adults. The salon opens every day except Monday at 10 a.m., closing at 5 p.m. during the week, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday; Monday openings are offered only by appointment.
A children’s haircut is $23, and a child’s first haircut package includes a haircut certificate and lock of hair. An adult’s haircut begins at $17, and senior citizens cost $15. Super Scissors can be reached at 203.210.7250.

Uncle Leo’s Coffee & Donuts
Uncle Leo’s Coffee & Donuts is opening a second location next month, adding a store at 17 Danbury Rd. in south Wilton to its original spot up in Georgetown. Owned by father and son, Leo Spinelli Jr. and Leo Spinelli III, this neighborhood favorite is well-known for great bagels and delicious donuts. But it’s also a stop for breakfast, offering egg sandwiches, gourmet omelettes, fresh-baked breads, platters, holiday breads (like their upcoming Easter bread), and catering.
Uncle Leo’s will open in the location formerly occupied by Blimpie.

Wilton Auto & Tire
Members of the Wilton Chamber of Commerce as well as several public officials and residents turned out for the ribbon cutting at Wilton Auto & Tire Center. The auto repair facility opened at 658 Danbury Rd..

Budget Blinds
New chamber member Tim Lashar doesn’t have a brick and mortar store, but that’s okay–he’ll bring the store to you. Budget Blinds of Norwalk and Wilton held his ribbon cutting outside his mobile office. Offering custom window coverings, the selection of window treatments offered includes shutters, blinds, draperies, shades, and even window film. Regardless of the window’s size or shape, he promises a customized window coverings solution.
Joining Lashar for his ribbon cutting ceremony was DiCenzo and Sato of the Chamber, Lashar (center) next to Vanderslice and Chamber member Russo.
