Two Wilton High School students recently started a club to raise awareness of hunger in Connecticut, calling it the Wilton Hunger Awareness Club. The girls, freshman Meryl Kaduboski and sophomore Nicole Case, recruited several other community kids to join, and together rallied a team of 12 students in grades 5-10 to compete in the First Annual 5K benefitting the CT Food Bank.

The 5K was held on the morning of Sunday, June 5 at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk. Running alongside hundreds of participants from all over Fairfield County were the following Wilton students who joined Kaduboski and Case:  Jessica Brown, Brendan Kaduboski, Dean Kaduboski, Khushi Kapoor, Lily Kepner, Ian Kineon, Jay Kineon, Kaz Nobumoto, Grace Rizzo, and Rachel Wilson.

The Wilton Hunger Awareness club meets various Sundays from 3-4 p.m. at the Wilton Library. To get more information on the Wilton Hunger Awareness club, contact Meryl via email.
