Last night (Thursday, June 16) the Wilton Rotary Club held its annual meeting dinner, marking the local chapter’s 35th year in existence. During the event, held at Rolling Hills Country Club, the Rotarians installed their new officers and celebrated the work the Wilton chapter of the service organization has done over the previous year. Notably, that work included making more than $13,000 in grants to several other Wilton organizations and projects, including Wilton Youth Council, Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Wilton Social Services and many more.

The new officers installed were:  Bud Boucher, president; Christene Freedman, president-elect; Richard E. Kent, immediate past president; Susan Goldman, secretary; Andy Mais, Treasurer; Beth Edwards, director; Paul Hafter, director; Carol Johnson, director; Laila Khouri, director; and Pat Russo, director.

Also during the event, Wilton Library’s executive director Elaine Tai-Lauria, was named as a Paul Harris Fellow, and the Club presented a Vocational Service Award to GOOD Morning Wilton editor Heather Borden Herve for service to the Wilton community.

Wilton Rotary Club is a business organization whose members are from local businesses, and which promotes service to others, both locally and around the world.
