Gofer Ice Cream Opening Soon
UPDATE, Tuesday, Aug. 1, 4 P.M.–Gofer Ice Cream is now open!
Could you go for some ice cream? GOOD thing that Gofer Ice Cream is looking to open sometime this week. GOOD Morning Wilton stopped in at the brand’s Danbury Rd. location late last Friday afternoon and saw how the finishing touches were being installed. Refrigerated cases were in place, a locksmith was installing new locks and electricians were completing the wiring.
Gofer’s owner Jay Ragusa said that once there’s a certificate of occupancy they’ll be ready to have a soft open, which hopefully should be sometime this week. All they need is to make sure they’ve got enough ice cream on hand.
Gofer Ice Cream is located at 379 Danbury Rd., next door to Wilton Deli.
Family Movie Night
Wilton Congregational Church is hosting a free family movie on Friday, Aug. 4, showing Pete’s Dragon. Wilton residents and their families are invited to bring the kids, a blanket, chairs and picnic dinner and come out to enjoy games and music before the movie starts. Snow cones, popcorn and cotton candy will be available to purchase.
Activities begin at 7 p.m., and the outdoor movie starts at dusk.

Wilton Y Wahoos Swim On to YMCA Long Course Nationals
On Saturday, 23 Wilton YMCA Wahoos departed for Greensboro, NC to compete in the 2017 YMCA Long Course National Swimming Championships. Events began yesterday, Monday, July 31 and conclude this Friday, Aug. 4.
