“Blue Christmas” Church Service to Help those Suffering

Wilton Presbyterian Church will hold a “Blue Christmas” service this Friday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Started two years ago by the Pastor, Rev. Shannon White, this service offers space for people have suffered loss, or who are dealing with loneliness and depression, and for whom this time of year is not merry and bright. The church is inviting people of all faiths, ages, colors to come together and offer prayer in a quiet way. Candles will be lit, and prayers and hymns will be part of the service.

In addition, the Presbyterian Church will be hold an Advent Music Sunday at 10 a.m. this Sunday, Dec. 13., also in the sanctuary. The service will feature a choir, piano, organ, flute, and bells, and all are welcome to attend that as well.

The Presbyterian Church is located at 48 New Canaan Rd..

WHS CODES Group Holding Holiday Toy Drive

CODES, a group of Wilton High School students dedicated to serving the community and providing drug and alcohol free opportunities for fun to high school students, is partnering with Family ReEntry in Norwalk for their holiday toy drive.

Family ReEntry’s mission is to develop, implement, and share innovative, sustainable, cost-effective solutions to the unprecedented numbers of people involved in the criminal justice system. They have several programs aimed at prevention, including family and domestic violence intervention programs, as well as mentoring and reentry to the community. Specifically, the toy drive collection benefits children whose parents are incarcerated.

Donation bins have been placed at WHS, the Wilton Family YMCA, and Outdoor Sports until this Sunday, Dec. 13. Any donated toys should be left unwrapped.

Wilton Singers Offer 2nd Annual “Holiday Sing”

Join the Wilton Singers for a one-hour community concert on Sunday, Dec 13, at 3 p.m., at WEPCO (the Wilton Episcopal and Presbyterian Complex at 48 New Canaan Rd..

Already a festive Wilton holiday tradition in its second year, friends and neighbors of every generation are sure to enjoy the harmonies of this celebrated Wilton choral ensemble as they perform highlights from their Holiday Feast, then join with the Wilton Singers for a festive sing-along that will raise holiday spirits and warm the hearts of all who attend.
The grand finale will be a visit from Santa Claus.

Tickets are $5 per child, $10 per adult or a maximum of $20 per family; they will be available at the door (check and cash only, please).
