Temple B’nai Chaim Holding High Holy Day Services in Georgetown
Temple B’nai Chaim (TBC) will be holding 2015 High Holy Days services at TBC’s synagogue in Georgetown (82 Portland Ave.). Rosh Hashanah services begin on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 13 and continue through Tuesday, Sept. 15; Yom Kippur is observed beginning Tuesday, Sept. 22 through Wednesday, Sept. 23.
This year, the new prayer book, Mishkan HaNefesh (“Sanctuary of the Soul”), will be used for the first time. More than 200 families are expected to participate in observances, including current congregants and others in the community.

ABC of Wilton Welcomes New Scholars
A Better Chance of Wilton (ABC) announced the arrival of four new scholars. All four students were thrilled to start their freshman year at Wilton High School this past Monday. Pictured below are Yanny Garcia (Lawrence, MA); Alex Villanueva (Bronx, NY); Emmanuel Bazile (Teaneck, NJ); and Bianca Juca (New York City, NY).
The mission of ABC of Wilton is to teach the scholars how to succeed in today’s complex world by acquiring a better education. To achieve the organization’s goal a myriad of volunteers in the Wilton community help guide and support the scholars through their high school years here. Anyone interested in participating or contributing ideas regarding workshops please visit the ABC website. The ABC program is a Wilton program: staffed and supported as a non-profit and funded 100 percent by Wilton residents.

Scheduling for Fall Minks to Sinks In-Home Consignment Starts Now
Preparation for the annual Fall Minks to Sinks sale, which opens Saturday, Oct. 3., has already begun. Anyone with more than 10 items to consign for the event, which is Connecticut’s largest outdoor tag sale and a Wilton institution, can now arrange to have Minks to Sinks volunteers come to their house and tag the items to be consigned, and then drop off the items at the tents the week before the sale.
To schedule an in-home consignment, call 203.762.0520, between 9 a.m.-7 p.m., before Sept. 14.
Regular consignments also will be held at the Minks to Sinks site, under the big white tents, Sept. 29–Oct. 1. The Minks to Sinks sale opens Saturday, Oct. 3. Proceeds from the sale benefit Family & Children’s Agency, the Norwalk-based non-profit agency that provides much needed social services to individuals and families in need in the surrounding communities.

Mammography Screening Today at Wilton Library
Wilton Library is teaming up with Stamford Hospital’s Mobile Wellness Program to help bring wellness to Wilton residents where they live, work, play and learn, by bringing the hospital’s Mobile Facility for Mammography Screenings to Wilton.
The coach will be in the front parking lot of Wilton Library at 137 Old Ridgefield Rd. from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 4. Services offered include: Screening Mammography for women 35-39 years old (baseline mammogram); women 40+ years old (annual mammogram).

Drum Jam Class Offered at Wilton Congregational Church
Looking for a different type of after school program for 5-8 year olds? Kenny Mercer is offering a new class called Drum Jam at Wilton Congregational Church.
